CLASS
Christian Life and Service Seminars
C.L.A.S.S. are a series of four seminars conducted by the Free Methodist Church in Canada.
Each course tackles a different issue of Christianity to aid individuals in their spiritual growth.
BASE I – “Discovering Membership” This course is great for individuals who are new to Christianity
and to the Free Methodist Church or those who simply wish to know more about the Free Methodist
roots and membership within Westdale Park FMC. It discusses fundamental beliefs of the Free Methodist
Church based on Biblical principles. It also assists in spiritually readying oneself for membership
within the local church. At the completion of BASE I, you are invited to be accepted into membership
at Westdale Park FMC.
BASE II – “Discovering Spiritual Maturity” Base II focuses on the “Four Basic habits”
that every Christian needs to develop in order to grow into spiritual maturity. It seeks to
equip you with the skills you need to begin these habits and the tools to continue.
“…real maturity – the measure of development which is meant by ‘the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13)
BASE III - “Discovering Your Ministry” Base III provides tools to discover your
S.H.A.P.E. or spiritual gifts. What God made you to be determines what He intends for you to do.
This course helps you to understand the kind of person you are and His plan for your life in ministry.
But watch out, it can be a life changing experience! At the completion of Base III you will be able to
answer these questions: What am I gifted to do? (Spiritual gifts), What do I love to do? (Heart), What
natural talents and skills do I have? (Abilities), Where does my personality best suit me to serve?
(Personality), and What experiences do I bring to my ministry? (Experience).
BASE IV – “Discovering Your Mission” is the last step in the C.L.A.S.S series. It is committed
to teaching individuals to introduce and bring others to the Lord. It helps you tackle difficult questions
like, “If Jesus Christ is real and all loving, why is there still suffering?”
After Base IV individuals may wish to pursue the requirements for LAY MINISTRY. Please see the Pastor
if you are interested in this and you have completed Bases I-IV.
